New Phoenix Version ... Security Systems Warning

WARNING!

Thursday 13th December 2011

The newest version of Phoenix (version 1.6.0.1591) has a severe bug which makes menu systems on deeded security systems to completely fail to work!

This problem has been detected in both Macintosh and Windows version of the phoenix viewer.

If you experience this problem, here is how to fix it:

First uninstall the newest phoenix viewer, then download one of the following older versions:

Windows version:

http://downloads.phoenixviewer.com/windows/Phoenix_Viewer-1.5.2.1185.exe

Macintosh version:

http://downloads.phoenixviewer.com/Mac/Phoenix_Viewer_1.5.2.1185_Intel.dmg 

And please report this bug to the official phoenix bug report web-site so they can fix it in next release!

GSS Inworld Group

For those of you like me that have 37563 groups in SL (well, 42 anyway lol) ... and keep having to delete ones that you'd rather not for various reasons ... I will be moving the GSS inworld group to a Subscribe-O-Matic system to co-incide with the opening of the new Mainstore.


This will at least enable you to have one extra group space ! ( it all helps ! )


The Subscribe / Unsubscribe locations will be at the new Mainstore, the GSS Grindhouse Outlet and also hopefully at the SafeAssist Corporate HQ

GSS Mainstore - Moving Soon

Hey Guys,

Apologies for the lack of updates recently ... real life has been hectic !

The main news is that the GSS Mainstore will be moving very shortly ... a custom built new store is being constructed as I type, and stocking the store will commence today (oh joy lol) ...

Hopefully we will be open or business at the new location by Monday 7th November at the latest.

I would like to re-iterate that whilst this is happening, the 'original' Mainstore will still be fully functional.

As soon as the new location is complete, I will send out group notices and update the SLURL on here.

Flt. Lt. Jon Egging - Royal Air Force

It is with great sadness that the UK Ministry of Defence confirm of the death of Flt Lt Jon Egging, a display pilot with the famous Royal Air Force Red Arrows Display Team (Red 4) whilst landing at Bournemouth Airport, England after a display.
Rest In Peace and all thoughts and prayers go to his family, friends and colleagues.

Mimi invited me to road-test one of their latest Security Bots, the Sparrow Bee at their testing ground ...

... and wow  was I impressed ! 

Mimi talked me through the set-up, basic and advanced usage of this cute bot ... and she is an absolute dream to operate and control (er .. the Bee I mean, not Mimi !).

You can alter the size of the Bee, from a giant Bee on steroids, to a bot the size of your fist ... or make her completely invisible. Her colours can also be changed. 

The Bee will happily patrol the areas you set up, and avoid crashing into buildings as you simply tell the Bee once where they are located.

It will attack those on it's enemy list, and allow safe passage to those identified as friends ... it's so easy to use.

All this is controlled by the simple low lag HUD.

Talking of HUDs ... ever wish  you could see who was at your store, home or club whilst you were offline - ever realised someone was there who shouldn't be? 

The new Sparrow E-HUD allows you to access all this and more - without even being logged into SL !

I will be doing a separate article on Sparrow products soon .. but if you are looking for an extremely capable and highly effective Security Bot - then look no further !
