Important - SWA Security Upgrades

To All SWA Customers :

SweetNWild Magic has upgraded several products in her Security Range.

The upgrades eliminate the use of drones and temp rezzers, to scan for intruders and utilise the latest LSL (Linden Scripting Language) functions.

SWA is currently the only Security Systems provider to incorporate this technique.

The benefit is that the systems will generate much less lag and temp prims when operating.

The upgraded systems are as follows:

SWA Mistress MKX-10
SWA Networked Security Panel & Orbs
SWA Avatar Banner

(note that an SWA Avatar Banner is now included free with the SWA Mistress package).

In order to affect the upgrade you will need to do the following:

1/ Take your Mistress/Banner/Panel and/or Orbs back into your inventory (we recommend taking a copy of all Pass, Admin and Ban lists from the equipment menus first, for later cross-reference)

2/ Send SweetNWild Magic an IM explaining that you are returning said items for the latest upgrade (list what and how many you are returning). All her IMs goto email and are not capped so she will receive the message.

3/ Transfer the systems back to SweetNWild Magic (note that Sweet uses the latest SL Viewer so there is zero chance of them being "lost" in the ether if she isn't online.

4/ Sweet will then confirm receipt and send you the latest upgraded versions.

More Info can be found on the SWA Website.

Safety Tip

Don't give out RL information to SL friends such as your home or personal mobile telephone number or work email address.
You simply don't know when your current partner may become an ex-partner come stalker etc, or your current best friend may turn on you for some reason.
Use a "throw-away" cellphone and an avatar named email address from sites such as Google, Yahoo, Hotmail etc etc to enhance your privacy.
Better safe than sorry!

The Urban Zombie

GSS are proud to announce a new partnership with The Urban Zombie.

Created and operated by Klatu and his wife Jodi, The Urban Zombie (UZ) is the premier Zombie slaying destination in SL.

The SIM houses a weapon store, (which sells a customisable full mesh SMG-7 designed specifically for UZ by Blue Works, a sister company of Mistral Munitions), a club and of course multiple layers of zombie hordes to fight and slaughter for your entertainment.

Klatu and JD are totally dedicated to the SIM and have lovingly built UZ into the best Zombie destination by far.

Phishing scams in Second Life

There has been an increase in Phishing attempts in the last couple weeks and a lot of people have fallen for them and lost their Second Life Accounts.

Phishing in SL is mainly the act of tricking a user into giving their login and password information through fake yet convincing Second Life login webpages.

Here is how it works.
- Someone posts a link and sometimes text to entice you to click it, sometimes this can be a friend or someone you know (because they've already had their accounts hacked).
- You click the link and it takes you to what looks like a Second Life Login screen.
- You log in using your SL Username and PW.
- You've just been Phished and given someone your SL Login information. They can now log into your SL account, take your money, destroy your SL Property, delete your inventory.. etc etc etc.

If you have clicked a link, and it takes you to a login page of some kind, no matter how much it looks real... DO NOT LOG INTO IT YET!

FIRST, look at the URL very carefully. The Linden Lab Login URL is
https://id.secondlife.com/ .
If it does NOT start with https://id.secondlife.com/, then it is not a real Second Life login web page. Do not log into it, and DO file an abuse report on the person who sent the link. From the Help menu, Report Abuse.

If you are unsure, go to http://secondlife.com and click on the "LOGIN" at the top right. That will take you to the legit login page which starts with https://id.secondlife.com. Log into that page, then follow the link.. if the link still takes you to a log in widget.. it's totally a scam.

If you've already been Phished

Immediately

- Go tohttp://secondlife.com
- Click the LOGIN link at the top right and enter your login information.
- On the right is a link called "Account" click it!
- Then click "Change Password" and change your password right away.

Please, protect your accounts. Think 3 times before entering your login information. Always check the URL.

Sincerely,

Jessica Lyon and the Phoenix/Firestorm Team
